What if I am having trouble logging in?

Please visit indstate.edu/confirm to complete your State Orientation registration.

How do I change my major?

To change your major you can select a new major with your registration or you can contact the Office of Admissions:

Do I have to attend orientation?

Yes, orientation is MANDATORY for all incoming students. Please call the Office of New Student Transition Programs with concerns or questions at 1-800-GO-TO-ISU.

How do I schedule my classes?

Students will meet with an academic advisor during orientation to schedule courses for the upcoming semester and learn about the curriculum to complete for graduation.

Do I have to stay for the entire program?

Yes, it is required that you stay for the entire orientation program so that you do not miss any vital information to begin a successful educational career at Indiana State University. Attendance is taken at some sessions and students who do not complete the program may have to repeat it.

What all do I need to bring to orientation?

• Once you have activated your MyISU portal login, please note your University username and password. You will need this information at orientation.

• Your state ID (i.e. Indiana Driver’s License)

• Social Security Card

• Comfortable shoes (we will be doing some walking)

• An umbrella for inclement weather

Does this program cost anything?

Yes, there is a New Student Orientation fee that will be applied to all new students attending the university. The charge will be on the student's e-bill prior to the start of the semester. Payment is not needed before or during orientation.

Am I allowed to arrive late?

No, it is important that you arrive by 8:45am and check-in prior to the opening session. If you cannot arrive by 8:45am, please reschedule your session.

Can I stay overnight?

If you need overnight accommodations, please contact the Office of Residential Life regarding room availability. You can reach them at 812-237-3993 or ISU-rlfaq@indstate.edu.

Am I able to choose my roommate for the school year?

Yes! In order to do this you will need to put your requested roommate’s University ID number on your housing application and they will need to put your University ID number on their application.
